Dianne F. Orendorff, 75, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Friday, April 1, 2016, in Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline, with The Reverend Dr. Randy Willers officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to service time, and a luncheon will follow at the church. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial in her name.
The former Dianne Frances Atwell was born August 13, 1940, in Moline, to Frances Carolyn (Almquist) and Claude Clifford Atwell, Sr. She graduated from Moline High School in 1958, and worked for Modern Woodmen of America for 43 years, retiring as a correspondence clerk in 2003. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and Modern Woodmen's Retirees Chapter 18111. She loved to cook and bake for others, especially cooking and baking with her grandchildren, and enjoyed reading and animals. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her love of helping others.
Dianne is survived by two children, Lisa Holdorf and Greg Orendorff, both of Coal Valley; four grandchildren, Peyton, Brooke, Delaney, and Owen Orendorff; her sister and brother-in-law, Claudette and Donald Swensson of Moline; her special friend, Dick Johnson of Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Claude Jr. and Maurice, and goddaughter Karla.
