Diane Veberg, 84, of Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 19, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. The Rev. Peter Bredlau will officiate. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
The former Norma Diane Veberg was born February 20, 1938, in Edgington, Illinois, the daughter of John Jr. and Ruth (Whitney) Vroman. She married Richard T. “Dick” Veberg on his birthday, November 24, 1958, in Rock Island. He died January 7, 2020.
She graduated from the Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a nurse until the birth of her daughter, Barb. She enjoyed traveling with her family down Route 66, to Door County, Wisconsin, and visiting lighthouses. She loved reading, puzzle books, and birdwatching (especially cardinals and hummingbirds). She was an avid Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Diane is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Barb and Rick Gregory of East Moline; a grandson, Ken Gellerstedt and his wife, Rachel, of Neenah, Wisconsin; her pride and joy, great-grandchildren, Jude and Zoe; and in-laws, Shirley Wait of Bettendorf, Iowa, Mike Veberg of Carbon Cliff, Illinois, and Al and Sue Veberg of Bloomington, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her parents; and three sisters, Evelyn Schave, Helen Arne, and Phyllis Bivens.
