Diane K. Morse

Diane K. Morse, 77, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Moline and Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Diane’s memory. 

The former Diane Kay McPhail was born August 21, 1947, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lester and Carolyn (Peake) McPhail. She married Laurel James “Jim” Morse on October 16, 1965, in Platteville. He died November 25, 2020. 

She worked in the restaurant industry for many years, spending 15 years at Porky’s Restaurant in Silvis, Illinois, and also working at Rudy’s Tacos. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a loyal Green Bay Packers’ fan.

Diane is survived by four children, Linda (Judd) Poppe of Silvis, Carolyn (Jon) Cole of Dubuque, Laura (Jerry) Freymann of Moline, and Robert (Melissa) Morse; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pamela (Larry) Catellier of Platteville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Morse; a brother, Harold McPhail; and several siblings in infancy.
