Denise J. Meyer, 78, of Davenport, Iowa, died Thursday, March 14, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Saints Mary and Mathias Catholic Parish, Muscatine.  Burial is in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Muscatine.  Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline.   Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Denise’s memory.

Denise Joy Hubbard was born April 17, 1945, in Mudgee, Australia, the daughter of Robert and Mavis (Fuller) Hubbard.

Denise found her soulmate in Cyril Stephen “Steve” Meyer, whom she married on January 9, 1965. Their union was a testament to love and devotion until Steve's passing on May 21, 1995.

Together, Denise and Steve established "Auto Color," a successful body shop paint supplier, where they shared countless memories and achievements. Following her husband's passing, Denise found fulfillment in her work at the Handicapped Development Center in Davenport, where she dedicated herself to assisting others until her retirement at the age of 70. Her compassion and empathy touched the lives of numerous clients throughout her career.

Denise was member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Blue Grass. She had a passion for music and found immense joy in the songs of Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty. An avid fan of crime shows, Denise's sharp wit and curiosity led to her believe that she should assist local law enforcement.

An adventurous spirit, Denise loved to travel, with Jamaica holding a special place in her heart. She adored her furry companions, particularly her rescue cocker spaniels and her cat, Eddie, and her home was always filled with their love and companionship. Above all, Denise held her family in the highest regard, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love.

Denise is survived by three children, Lori (Scott) Heinrich of Durant, Iowa, Aron (Stephanie) Meyer of Bettendorf, and Jodi (Adam) Stock of Bettendorf; nine grandchildren, Hayley (Steve Coon, Jr.) Heinrich, Canyon Heinrich, Cheyanne (Martin) Cortes-Espinoza, Allyson Heinrich, Maison Carlson, Kassidy (Jake) Skinner, Devon (Katie Kirby) Stock, Treigh Stock, and Emilee Stock; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Sofia, Nathaniel, and Hudson; siblings, Ronda (Perry) Shannon of Letts, Iowa, and Barbara “Mike” (Joe) Cox, Kevin (Lori) Hubbard, and Donna (Roy) Yerington, all of Muscatine; many friends, including a dear friend, Coretta Samuel; and a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Roger Hubbard; and a great-granddaughter, Rosabelle Mavis.

The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Heartland Hospice, especially Anna, Amber and Laura, for the wonderful care given to Denise.
