Delores R. Martin, 71, of Milan, Illinois, died Saturday, February 2, 2019, in her home as a result of a fire.
A joint graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019, at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline. A joint memorial service with her granddaughter, Brittany Mote, and great-grandson, Thomas Conley, will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2019, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation will precede the funeral from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to the family.
Delores Rae Martin was born March 27, 1947, in Moline, to Benjamin Franklin and Margaret (Catterton) Martin. She was a jig bore operator at John Deere Plow Planter Works, and was the first female skilled trades worker at the plant. Delores was known as "Grandma' to all her neighbors. She loved collecting angels, and hugs from Thomas, as well as country music and helping the needy
Delores is survived by three children, Charles "Mike" Johnson, Deena Kent, and Jim Mote, all of Milan; and siblings, Frank Martin, Joan (Robert) Craig, Lillian Lear, and Georgia (Darrell) Creamer. In addition to Brittany and Thomas, she was preceded in death by four grandchildren, three brothers, and four sisters.
