Dean S. Lundburg

Dean S. Lundburg, 87, of Orion, Illinois, died Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Aledo Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Aledo, Illinois.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.

Dean Stephens Lundburg was born June 16, 1934, in Ontario Township, Illinois, the son of Clair Willard and Rena (Stephens) Lundburg. He graduated from Cambridge High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. He married Lydia “Joyce” Sartor on January 12, 1963, in Cambridge, Illinois. She died October 30, 2018.

Dean was a diesel mechanic, working 23 years for Borden’s Dairy, 10 years for Sears-Roebuck, and finishing his career at Brown Truck Leasing.

He enjoyed camping (especially at Cloud Nine Ranch in Missouri), fishing, and watching sports. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Dean and he truly loved supporting and watching his grandchildren in their various sports and activities.

Dean is survived by four children, Sherry (Joe) Zepeda of Moline, Chris (Deanna) Lundburg of Orion, Doug Lundburg (fiancé Summer Rasmussen) of Davenport, and Carrie (Jed) Weber of Coal Valley; 11 grandchildren, Sarah (Chad) Lenning, Nicholas Zepeda, Jared Zepeda, Andrew (fiancé Tiffany Siefert) Lundburg, Nathan Lundburg, Elizabeth (fiancé Jonah Adkisson) Lundburg, Claire Weber, Jack Weber, Lucy Weber, Marissa Ochs, and Marie Benson; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary (Susan) Lundburg of Phoenix, Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his wife; a grandson, Brandon Lundquist; and brothers, Donald and Eugene Lundburg.
