Dean Kemper Bowen, 70, of East Moline, Illinois, died on arrival at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois, on Monday, March 7, 2016.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
Kemper was born September 20, 1945, in Omaha, Nebraska to Dean Sr. and Gladys (Hall) Bowen. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Reba Dickey in 1971, and they were later divorced. He married Mary Watson Wenstrom Ramos on June 14, 1994, in Elico, Nevada. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of DAV in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was a show judge for the International Show Car Association.
Kemper is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Kendra Adams and her husband Glen of Littleton, Colorado, and Karis Bowen of Lincoln, Nebraska; two granddaughters, Karis and Kyla Adams; and a step-son, Kevin Wenstrom and his wife Tina of Thornton, Colorado.
