Dean L. Hall, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, at Viola United Presbyterian Church, 2571 IL-17, Viola, Illinois, with Rev. Matt Downey officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Farlow Grove Cemetery, where military honors will be presented. Friends are invited to dress in Chicago Cubs or Marines attire. Memorials may be made to the family for a bench at Prospect Park in honor of Dean.
Dean Lyle Hall was born May 19, 1935, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Harold and Vera (Pearson) Hall. He married Andrea Lindley and the couple had three children prior to her passing on April 16, 1985. He married Kathleen Esp on December 23, 1988, in Viola.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and enjoyed his trip with Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Dean worked at Farmall for 30 years. He was a member of Viola United Presbyterian Church, Moline American Legion Post #246 and Matherville Eagles Club. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, reading, spending time with his family and walking his companion, Ella, in Prospect Park.
Dean is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Hall; three children, DeAnn (Greg) Cullor of Milan, Illinois, Lori (Richard) McCaulley of High Springs, Florida, and Carrie Gulley of Matherville, Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and siblings, Mary (Rick) Toom and Donna (Danny) Gresch. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Andrea Hall; his father, Harold “Fuzzy” Hall; his mother and step-father, Vera and Nels Carlson; a son-in-law, Steve Gulley; and siblings, Harold Hall, Gary Carlson, and Waneta Orvis.
