David W. Mehuys

David W. Mehuys, 71, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, October 20, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Graveside services are 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 28, at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot of Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 1:15 p.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

David William Mehuys was born October 30, 1950, in Germany, the son of William and Ruth (Harms) Mehuys. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and went on to marry the love of his life, Rebecca Foreman, in 2003, in Missouri.

He worked on the Rock Island Arsenal for many years. He loved music and being in the mountains.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca; three children, Adam (Anita) Mehuys of Orion, Illinois, Michael Mehuys of Moline, and Omega (Stephan) Dipple of Moline; two step-children, Chad Wright of Rock Island, and Emily (Cedric) Cisneros of Las Vegas, Nevada; a granddaughter, Astarael Handelman; two step-grandchildren, Allysa and Averi Wright; and siblings, Christopher and John Mehuys.
