David C. Scoggins

David C. Scoggins, 81, of Davenport, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa. 

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12^th Street, Moline.  Visitation is one hour prior to services.  Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarrisa C. Cook Hospice House.

David Charles Scoggins was born October 12, 1942, in Oakland, California, the son of Henry and Mary (MacCulloch) Scoggins.  He married Kathleen Viola Elj on November 5, 1966, in Virginia, Minnesota.   

David was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He worked for John Deere before becoming a logistics assistance representative for the Rock Island Arsenal.  He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Quad Cities In-Fisherman Club.  He will be remembered as an ornery man with a good sense of humor that loved his family with all of his heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Scoggins; two children, Steven Scoggins of Davenport and Sonya (Walter) Banaszak of Williamsburg, Iowa; four grandchildren, Kenzie Scoggins, Alexandra (Jacob) Allen, David Banaszak, and Katelyn Banaszak; and his nephew and niece, Darrin and Joy Scoggins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Scoggins.
