Reverend David E. Williams. 76, of Moline died Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Big Meadows Eden Alternative Home in Savanna, Illinois. Visitation is 4 to 7 PM, Friday at Trimble Funeral & Cremation Center, Moline. Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday at First Covenant Church, 3303 41st Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to First Covenant Church or Hope United Church of Christ, Moline. David Earl Williams was born June 20, 1928 the son of W. Clark and Grace (Lanning) Williams in Belvidere, IL. He married the former Valoyce DeGroote on June 24, 1947 in Humboldt, IA. He graduated with Honors from Grinnell College with a BA and from Chicago Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree. He was ordained June 11, 1967 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Algonquin, IL. He served churches in Iowa, Ohio, and Illinois and retired in 1992 from Hope United Church of Christ in Moline. H enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling. Survivors and their spouses include; his wife; four daughters Barbara (Kenneth) Payne, Schaumburg, IL, Nancy (Dennis) Kneip, Algonquin, IL, Susan (John) West, Woodstock, IL, and Monica "Mickey" Williams, Oceanside, CA; six grandchildren, Todd, Larissa, Natalie, Emily, Jason and Michelle (Erik); six step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; four step-great-grandsons; a sister, Ruth Williams, Cedar Rapids, IA; and a brother, George (Kathy) Williams, Bonita, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and a grandson.
