David E. Grimes

David E. Grimes, 60, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, March 11, 2018, at home following an extended illness.

A gathering to celebrate David's life will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Frackie's Pub & Grub in Davenport. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family.

David was born February 24, 1958, in Moline, the son of Oscar Eugene and Betty Ann (Lemon) Grimes. He married Andrea Lasack on June 9, 1989, in Davenport. He was a concrete finisher for several area contractors.

He enjoyed camping and fishing, along with home improvement projects. Above all else he loved being with his family and friends, especially at Frackie's.

David is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Andrea; a son, Joshua Grimes; step-children, Frank (Jackie) Berner of Davenport, Kelly (Steve) Dittmer of Bettendorf, and Angela (Rick) Mayer of Mesa, Arizona; siblings, Rebecca (Ron) Bruce of Moline, John (Tracy Gish) Grimes of Davenport, and Lisa Grimes-Harden of East Moline; his little fur-babies at home; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
