David E. Dorland

David E. Dorland, 69, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Sunday, March 28, 2021, in his residence.

Private graveside services and burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials can be made to the family.

David Edward Dorland was born October 9, 1951, in Moline, to Edward D. and Yvonne (Koltenbeck) Dorland. He was a 1969 graduate of Moline High School. He married Nancy Smock on April 3, 1971, in Colona, Illinois. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Doric Lodge #319, AF & AM, and Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline.

He worked at John Deere Harvester Works East Moline. He was an over the road truck driver for 30 years. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was always known for his jokes and sense of humor.

Dave is survived by his wife, Nancy; four children and spouses, Shana (Michael) Danese of St. Joseph, Missouri, Nicole (Michael) Ortiz of Moline, Damian (Kathy) Dorland of Moline, and Royanne (Thomas) Overfield of Carbon Cliff; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several cousins and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward D &Yvonne Dorland and a sister, Diane Schlotman.
