Daniel James, aka Dennis James Knight, 58, of Milan, Illinois, formerly of Muscatine, Iowa, and Tucson, Arizona (21 years), peacefully succumbed to his battle with pancreatic cancer in the arms of his lifelong companion, Ruby J. Knight, and surrounded by his beloved pets in their home in Milan, on March 29, 2018.
A memorial mass is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. A gathering to celebrate Daniel's life will also be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Weed Park in Muscatine, Iowa, at a time yet to be determined.
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Ruby J. Knight, furbabies, Heidi, Bella, Magic, Rocky, Mutt and Jeff; lifelong friends, Gina Cunningham, Angie Nelson Musser, Terry and Wade Byrd, Mathew Ankney, and Walter Galvan; cousin, Audra and Gary Sill; brother, David Knight; sister, Deb Kemper; father, Everett Knight; and nephews, Terry and Jeff Hilligoss.
He loved gardening, cooking, eating out, and dancing. He attended Muscatine, Iowa, schools and was a member of the 1977 graduating class. He also attended Muscatine Community College and Pima Community College, Tucson, Arizona.
