Dale W. Salisberry, Sr., 71, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Visitation is 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. There will be no public funeral services. Burial will take place at a later date at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Memorials may be made to Easter Seals.
Dale Wayne Salisberry was born April 28, 1941, in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Donald Mark and Velma Leona (Smith) Salisberry. He married Jackie Kay Gellerstedt on February 7, 1961, in Moline.
He worked for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He also owned and operated Salisberry?s 18th Avenue Bait & Tackle in Rock Island for six years.
Dale volunteered for Easter Seals and the Bass Tournament for Charity for many years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and shooting pool. He was an all-around ?good guy?, always willing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie, of Moline; daughters, LeAndrea and Robert Tarrant of Sherrard, Illinois, DeAnna and Joseph Hellberg of Moline, and Melissa Smith of Milan; a son, Dale Jr. and Amy Salisberry of Moline; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marsha Chancellor-Tady and her husband, Guy, of Mesa, Arizona, Gwenda Salisberry and her husband, Rod, of Camanche, Iowa, and Gary and Lauralinda Salisberry of Florence, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Nathan Traman.
