Dale E. Anderson

Dale E. Anderson, 85, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, September 8, 2024, at home.

Private family services will be held. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Dale Edward Anderson was born December 2, 1938, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of George C. and Orpha (Withrow) Anderson. He married the love of his life, Marion Smith, on March 20, 1959, in Moline. 

He attended Rock Island High School before embarking on a lifelong calling of working for John Deere. After retiring in 1994 as an inspection special investigator, he worked as a tour guide for Deere for many years. 

Dale loved doing yardwork and spending time with his family. He was a very social man who enjoyed going to Walcott to visit with truckers and the workers at the truck stop. He was the epitome of “never met a stranger”.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 65 years, Marion; three children, Mike Anderson of Moline, Jackie Moorhusen of Granby, Colorado, and Darren (Donna) Anderson of East Moline; grandchildren, Travis, D.J., Sam (Ashley), and Mason; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, George, William, Thomas, Daniel, Pauline, Marianne, and Gail.
