George D. Wesner, 67, of Moline, Illinois, died peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, January 27, 2007, in his home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend David Reish officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gospel Lighthouse Church of God, Colona., where he was a member.
George Dwight Wesner was born April 27, 1939, in Moline, the son of Harold and Helen (Bliss) Wesner. He married Isabelle Holden on November 6, 1982, in Colona. He served in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He was maintenance supervisor at the Moline YMCA, last working in 1984 due to disability. In younger years, he won many trophies for volleyball.
George is survived by his wife, Isabelle; two children, Justus Wesner of Rock Island and Shayla Wesner of Moline; and a brother, William Wesner of Moline.
