Kenneth Dale Patton, 80, of Cleburne, Texas, formerly of Moline and Aledo, Illinois, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Heritage Trail Nursing Home, Cleburne.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Visitation is two hours prior to the service. Burial is in the Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Red Cross.
Kenneth Dale Patton was born September 16, 1927, in Cosby, Missouri, the son of Jasper Edward and Anna Pearl (Harris) Patton. He married Beverly Jane Kemerling on January 24, 1948, in Moline. She died on May 12, 1999.
Kenneth began his career with John Deere at the administration center in Moline as a computer programmer in 1956. He transferred to the Planter works division in 1967, where he worked in the computer and payroll department. Later he moved to the shipping department, and retired in 1982 after 26 years of service. He received the World War II Victory Medal for his service in the U.S. Army.
Kenneth was an avid fisherman in his earlier years. In his later years, he enjoyed playing cribbage and listening to the Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John ?Jack? and Gloria Patton of Burleson, Texas, daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Bob Lyon of Aledo, Illinois, and Judith and Jeff Smith of Oak Creek, Colorado, eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marie Payne.
