Roger D. McKeag, 65, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010, in his home surrounded by his family.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Tim Carr officiating. Burial is in Homestead Cemetery, Coal Valley. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Bible Missionary Church, Coal Valley, or to the family.
Roger Dale McKeag was born May 11, 1945, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Dale and Bessie Banscher McKeag. He graduated from Orion High School, and married Barbara Hendrickson on June 26, 1965, in Orion. He later married Becky May Scott on February 6, 1999, in Coal Valley. He was foreman in the Seal and Stripe Division of Tri-City Blacktop. After retiring, he worked at Highland Springs Golf Course in Milan. He previously worked at International Harvester Farmall Works and Wal-Mart. He attended First Bible Missionary Church, Coal Valley, and enjoyed his 1964 Thunderbird, his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, golf, and hot wheels. His life centered around his family and friends, and he loved everyone?s babies and children.
Roger is survived by his wife, Becky; four children, Sheryl McKeag of Milan, Illinois, Roger D. McKeag, Jr., of Milan, Rachel Hahn of Moline, and Brwyn McKeag of Milan; three step-children, Dave Scott and his fiancée Amy Redden of Davenport, Iowa, Michelle Kintz and her husband Kevin of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Duane Scott of Davenport; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Janet Salsman and her husband Jim of Coal Valley; and a brother, David McKeag of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers and a sister-in-law, John T. and June McKeag and James A. McKeag.
