Jack D. McCollum, 66, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, December 3, 2007, in his home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Jerry Helms officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour before the services.
Jackie Dean McCollum was born October 9, 1941, in Mendon, Missouri, the son of Anna Bell (Craigg) and James L. McCollum. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1960 to 1964. He married Linda Butts on September 1, 1966, in Rock Island. She died September 17, 1980. He was a Tool and Die Specialist for Kennametal Corporation and its predecessors for 40 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed fixing up his house and yard.
Jack is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Cal and Beverly McCollum of Las Vegas, Nevada, Al and Penny McCollum of Silvis, Dean McCollum and Sarah Field of Davenport, and James McCollum of Moline; six grandchildren, Jonathon McCollum, James McCollum, Kimberly Watson, Elizabeth Watson, Demi Field and Ian McCollum; sisters and a brother-in-law, Hildred and Ervin Garr of Brookfield, Missouri, and Mildred Sullivan of Moline; and a brother and two sisters-in-law, Virgil and Judy McCollum of Milan, and Betty McCollum of Marceline, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and two brothers, Howard McCollum and James McCollum Jr.
