Martin D. Hasselberg, 56, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107 21st Avenue, Moline, with The Reverend Dr. Wilfred L. Karsten officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is one hour before the services at the church. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.
Martin David Hasselberg was born May 27, 1953, in Greenville, South Carolina, to David Carl and Wilma Herrala Hasselberg. He served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a supply technician and defense accountant at the Rock Island Arsenal, last working in August, 2009, due to illness.
Martin was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, and enjoyed collecting stamps and coins.
He is survived by his parents, Wilma and David Hasselberg, and brothers, Stanley and Matthew Hasselberg, all of Davenport, Iowa.
