Cynthia J. Garner

Cynthia J. Garner, 67, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Sunday, October 16, 2016, in her home.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the service.

The former Cynthia Jeannette Birdsall was born August 15, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois, to Paul Philip and Frances Chance Birdsall. She married Robert Garner on March 29, 1969, in Milan, Illinois. She was well known as a cake decorator and wedding planner, and operated Cakes by Cindy for many years. She also worked in the drapery department at Montgomery Ward for several years.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Bob; four children, Wendy Garner of Moline, Rob Garner of Rock Island, Leslie Rodriguez and her husband Joshua of Rock Island, and, Lisa DeAngelis and her husband James of Davenport, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and siblings and spouses, Daniel and Geraldine Birdsall of Lynn Center, Illinois, and Connie and Robert Dietz of Orion, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Robert and Paul David Birdsall.
