Craig Smith, 51, of Davenport, IA, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021, in his home.
A hospitality gathering to celebrate Craig’s Rock Star life will be held 2 to 4 on Saturday, February 27th, at City View Celebrations at Trimble Point. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family.
Craig Van Smith was born April 2, 1969, in Davenport, to Larry and Julie (VanDenHende) Smith. Craig was a mechanic by trade, but enjoyed playing drums, auto repair, carpentry, and wood working.
Craig was the drummer for many bands including Speedbump, Blankit and Nine Volt. He loved 80s music, ATV and ATC riding, camping, and partying with friends. His favorite hobby was working on projects with his son Chevy. Craig had a beautiful smile and was known for his unique and contagious laugh.
Craig is survived by his son, Chevy Smith of Silvis; Dear Friends and former wife, Amy Shipman and her husband Rydur Newton, Port Byron; Stepson, Chaeys Newton; Sister, Shari (Scott) Souza and Brother, Ricky (Hedda) Smith.
