Moline, Illinois Constance Hilton Mark, 82, of Moline, well-known area dietician, died Friday, October 15, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 10 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, with The Reverend Fred Schmidt, First Lutheran Church, Moline, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka, Minnesota. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Health Foundation or Trinity's Parish Nurse Program. The former Constance Mary Hilton was born June 18, 1922, in Anoka, Minnesota, the daughter of Harry B. and Tina (Serra) Hilton. She graduated from the University of Minnesota and received her Master's Degree from the University of Iowa. She married William R. Mark on March 3, 1989, in Leominster, Massachusetts. He died April 25, 1998. Connie was employed by the former Moline Lutheran Hospital for 38 years as Director of Dietary Services and then Director of Volunteer Services, retiring in 1985. She was responsible for the expansion of the Dietary Kitchen into a full dietary services department, and started the volunteer services program. Connie was active in many community and professional organizations. She was Regent of Mary Little Deere Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, President of Zonta Club of the Quad Cities, President of Business and Professional Woman's Club of Moline, President of the Emily Clareen Circle of the former Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary, and a Board Member of the Moline Y.W.C.A. and the Food Service Program at Marycrest College. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Moline, Business and Professional Woman's Club of Davenport, Mississippi Valley Chapter of New England Women, Illinois Society of Daughters of Colonial Wars, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Hummel Club of the Quad Cities, and the Alumni Associations of the Universities of Minnesota and Iowa. Professionally, she was charter member and past president of the Mississippi Valley Dietetic Association, past president of the Illinois State Dietetic Association, and past Board Member of the American Dietetic Association, She is survived by a cousin, Lois and John VanDervin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and their children, Paula VanDervin, Beth Kissner, and Scott VanDervin; a niece, Dru Goren of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania; and many special friends.
