Clyde H. Degeeter, 87, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, November 20, 2016, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Bettendorf, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Private burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Moline Public Library or the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
He was born February 26, 1929, in Geneseo, Illinois, to August and Nora (Kuhl) Degeeter. He married Rosemarie Loete on November 28, 1953, in Moline. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Clyde worked for John Deere Plow and Planter Works for 32 years. He was a bicycle rider in his younger years, enjoyed watching NASCAR and staying up-to-date with the most current electronics and TVs. He liked tinkering with cars and gadgets, earning the nickname "wrench" by some of his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Maurice Truster of Bettendorf; and a grandson, Taylor Truster of La Porte, Indiana. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Degeeter, his daughter, Kimberly, and an infant daughter.
