Clifford W. Cordell

Clifford W. Cordell, 69, of East Moline, Illinois, died Friday, March 20, 2015, in Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, Illinois. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services. Following the burial, friends are invited to join the family at a reception at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. Memorials may be made to Quad city Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Clifford Wesley Cordell was born August 20, 1945, in Moline, to Wallace Vern and Charlotte Lorraine (Kave) Cordell. He graduated from United Township High School in 1963, and married Sharon Abbott in 1964. They were later divorced. He served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam, and was a concrete finisher for Cement Mason's local 18, area 544, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed old cars and old plane, motorcycles and hill climbing, animal, movies, and traveling, especially by automobile.

Cliff is survived by his companion of 40 years, Helen Johnson of Moline; a son, Brian Cordell of Milliken, Colorado; a sister and brother-in-law, Deb and David Hitchcock of Fort Myers, Florida; and Helen's children, Janice Golz and her husband Greg of Rock Island, Georgette Wells Dacon and her husband Dave Dacon of Bettendorf, Marilyn King and her husband Michael of Bend, Oregon, and Darryl Johnson and his wife Kelly of Moline; and their families.
