Clifford E. “Cliff” Finley, 78, of East Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, December 2, 2021, at home.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Clifford Edward Finley was born May 28, 1943, in Louisiana, Missouri, the son of Paul and Sarah (Walters) Finley. He served in the U.S. Army and married Mary Harshbarger, with whom he had two sons before separating. He then married Lenora Bitner on June 23, 1974, in Rock Island. She died July 22, 2012.
He worked for Montgomery Elevator and Amatek before becoming a truck driver for Eagle Foods, where he worked from 1974 until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of the Good Samaritan Club, and enjoyed camping and leatherworking. Above all else, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Cliff is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny Finley, and Paul and Julie Finley of Silvis, Illinois; five grandchildren, Todd Finley, Katelyn and Keagan Finley, and Kira and Kendrack Finley; a great-granddaughter, Sierra; and a sister, Alice Pitts. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, and a son, Clifford “Ed” Finley.
