Clara Wilson Swango, age 95 of University City, MO, died, Wednesday, August 22, 2001 in Clayton, MO. Graveside Services will be 2:30 PM, Wednesday, August 29 in Preemption Cemetery, Preemption, IL. Memorials may be sent to the Reynolds Methodist or to one's favorite charity. Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo, IL. is assisting the family. The former Clara Wilson was born February 2, 1906 in Reynolds, IL, daughter of William J. and Jane (McVitty) Wilson. She married the late Gale Loren Swango on January 1, 1927 in Davenport, IA. Clara graduated from Western Illinois State Teachers College, and earned a Master's Degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was a Teacher in the Public School District for many years. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and William Blundell of Cambria, CA, a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Anne Swango of University City, MO, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Margaret Sproston of Reynolds, IL., along with several nieces and nephews.
