Clara Thomas

Clara M. Thomas, 93, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

Private services will be held with burial at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Children's Ohio, 1 Children's Plaza 2 West, Dayton, OH 45404.

The former Clara Mae Tansing was born April 26, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Carl and Lillian (Goller) Tansing. She married Dalton Leroy Thomas on March 17, 1951, in Cincinnati. He died September 20, 2016.

Clara was a skilled China painter and also enjoyed knitting and gardening. She was a member of Moline Chapter #258, Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by two children, Linda Thomas of Moline, and Lee (Judy) Thomas of Galva, Illinois; two grandsons, Benjamin (Cindy) Thomas of Peoria, Illinois, and Erich (Heather) Thomas of Princeville, Illinois; and five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Ephram, and Isaac Thomas, and Maeve and Asher Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings, Robert and Ruth Tansing.
