Christopher R. Davis, 42, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

A barbeque to celebrate Chris’ life will be 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12, at the Singing Bird Lodge at Blackhawk State Park, Rock Island. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family in Chris’ memory.

Christopher Riley Davis was born August 9, 1982, in Silvis, Illinois. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 2001, where he played on the basketball team. He most recently worked at Walmart in Moline.

He was an avid sports fan, mainly of the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. Chris’ grandfather was a firefighter and he was always infatuated with firefighters. He enjoyed taking walks, especially in Blackhawk State Park. Above all else, family was the most important thing to him.

Chris is survived by his mother, Jayne Aversing of Rock Island; his significant other, Jessica Rosenbaum; daughters, Samantha and Hailey; grandchildren, Jaivyn, Aviana and Izaiah; siblings, Elisha Carpenter of Indiana, Karin (Adrian) Plato of Texas, Joel (Stacey) Aversing of Leesville, Louisiana, Henry (Cassandra) Davis III of San Jose, California, Jennifer (Zachary) Smith of Davenport, and Keesa and Keesha; nieces and nephews, Isaiah, Aaliyah, Nyla, and Londyn, Talissa, Kyla and Audriana, Jonah, Naveyah, Stellah, and Henry IV, and Juell, Kiyan and Hendrix; and a host of other family and friends including his best friend, Robert Parker of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Davis, Jr.; his sister, Cynthia Davis; and a brother-in-law, Jermaine Carpenter.
