Christine N. Bergland

Christine N. Bergland, 95, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with Pastor Tom Otis officiating. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Moline, where she was a member.

The former Christine Nelsena Kvamme was born February 25, 1914, in Petersburg, Nebraska, the daughter of Bertal and Louise (Herness) Kvamme. She married Robert Clifford Bergland on June 22, 1935, in Newman Grove, Nebraska. He died January 20, 1992. She enjoyed flower gardening and cooking.

Christine is survived by a daughter, Jean Bergland of Moline; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Trudy Bergland of East Moline and Norman and Elizabeth Bergland of Moline; six grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Grace Bergland, Jody and Richard Fontenoy, Clifford Kamps. John and Jennifer West, Angelo Bermudez, and Michael Bergland; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leona Haave of Norfolk, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband and five siblings.
