Charles T. "Chuck" Bradney, 73, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, September 22, 2016, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, with Father Jim DeBisschop officiating. Visitation is 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Following services, cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established in Chuck's memory.

He was born July 12, 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the USS Truckee. He married Patricia Lee Akers on December 2, 1967. She died July 6, 1996.

Chuck worked for Iowa Fluid Power for over 40 years, retiring in 2009 as Vice President. He served as a consultant after retirement.

He gave a lot of time to many organizations including the Bettendorf and Coal Valley Jaycees, Bettendorf Optimist Club, Junior Achievement, and the Coal Valley Lions Club. He served on the board for the Rock Island County Fair and Coal Valley Days. He enjoyed woodworking, boating and fishing, golf, and traveling. He and his wife, Pat, ran Apple Valley Farms in Coal Valley for several years.

Chuck is survived by two sons, Craig Bradney of Akron, Ohio, and Chad Bradney of Moline; five grandchildren, Courtney, Charles, Christina, Cody, and Ethan; his loving companion, Judy Millard of Orion; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pat; a daughter at birth, Joy Beth; and a brother, Norman.
