Charles A. Rudiger, Sr.

Charles A. Rudiger, Sr., 102, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, September 17, 2023, in his home.

Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, September 21, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. A hospitality visitation will be one hour before the service.  Memorials may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, where he was a member.

Charles Andrew Rudiger was born August 6, 1921, in Spring Valley, Illinois, to Charles M. and Lora (Thomas) Rudiger.  He served in the US Army Air Corps in China and India during WW II, and married Bertie Gooch on September 19, 1945, in Spring Valley.  She died July 2, 2015.  He was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal for 36 years, retiring as Supervisor of Supply Management in 1979. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, and doing volunteer work, especially for the Salvation Army.

Charles is survived by two children, Charles A. Rudiger, Jr., and Roberta L. Rudiger, both of Moline.  He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Beulah Thomas.
