Charles R. Snell, 71, of Davenport, Iowa, died Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

Burial is 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 2:15 p.m. A gathering to celebrate Chucks life will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Crabby's Bar & Grill in Coal Valley, Illinois. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Toys for Tots.

Charles Ray Snell was born November 17, 1947, in Davenport, the son of Aaron and Doris (Slater) Snell. He was raised by Doris and his step father, George Fenno, Jr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He had a wide range of jobs in his life, starting out as a butcher, then selling insurance and running his own produce stand. He spent the last 14 years working in the liquor store at Crabby's and was known as "the warden" to all his co-workers. He enjoyed bowling and watching NASCAR.

Chuck is survived by three children, Randy (Emily) Snell, Tara (Chris) Niemeier, and Anthony (Kevin) Snell; four grandchildren; his step-father, George Fenno, Jr.; his brother, George (Kathy) Fenno; and a special friend, Sue Pickens. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Roger Snell.
