Charles N. Slaughter, Jr., 43, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Colona, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, in Rock Island, Illinois.
Services are 3 p.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Gene Meyers officiating. Visitation is two hours prior to the service. Cremation will follow the funeral. Memorials may be made to the Charles Slaughter Memorial Fund, % Kayla Hollars, to be used for his daughters? education.
Charles Newton Slaughter Jr. was born January 28, 1963, in Kennett, Missouri, the son of Charles and Amy Jo (Scott) Slaughter. He had served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a welder at BMD Manufacturing in Milan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drawing, and spending time with his family at the river.
Charles is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Kayla and Sam Hollars of Moline, and Rachel Slaughter of Cleveland, Illinois; his parents, Charles and Amy Slaughter of Colona, Illinois; a grandson, Corbin Hollars; his grandmother, Esthelee Slaughter of Selmer, Tennessee; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kim and Tim Bowden and Kassandra Walters; and nephews, Chad and Cody Bowden, Shane Slaughter and Toby Walters, all of Colona; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
