Charles L. Curry, 75, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, May 6, 2021, at home after a long illness.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with the Rev. Michael Swartz officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Mexico, Missouri, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, Moline.
Charles Lee Curry was born December 30, 1945, in Mexico, Missouri, to Harold and Laveta Goe Curry. He graduated from Mexico High School, received a B.S. in Physical Therapy from University of Missouri, and a M.A. in Physical Therapy from University of Southern California. He and Mary Lynn Chilton were married March 29, 1969 in Florissant, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Air Force until retirement in 1989. He then worked at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, retiring 2004.
He was a member of First Congregational Church and a longtime community volunteer at World Relief. A member of the Quad Cities Bicycle Club, he had a lifetime of good cycling friendships and experiences. He was a passionate train enthusiast and loved baseball and basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, daughter Anna Curry (Joshua Wick),and granddaughter Jane Callender of Brooklyn, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Laveta, and by his sister, Mary Ellen.
