Charles Roosevelt “OT” Davis, Jr., 67, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center East, Davenport.
Graveside services are Noon Friday, September 13, at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Vietnam Veterans of America will present military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, at 11:45 a.m. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline is entrusted with arrangements.
Charles Roosevelt Davis, Jr. was born November 23, 1956, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Charles Sr. and Shirley Mae (Harris) Davis. He served in the U.S. Army and went on to marry the love of his life, Ruby Jean Davis, on June 29, 1989, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Charles was a man of honor and strength, cherished for his roles as a loving father, brother, and son. His life was marked by a deep passion for music, dancing, and reading, which brought joy not only to him but to all who knew him.
OT is survived by his beloved wife, Ruby; five children, Carlos, Dominique, Cornelius, Sherida, and Charles III; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Carlos Jr., Maliki, C’yana and D’yanta; siblings, Paul Davis, James Davis, Margaret Davis, and Tanya Barbour; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Petere Davis.
