Catherine (Kay) Grogg

Catherine "Kay" Grogg, 77, of Moline, died Monday, January 30, 2006, in her home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Community of Christ Church, Moline, where she was a member. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be given to either the East Moline Prison Ministry or to Community of Christ Church.

The former Catherine Ann Giles was born on March 20, 1928 in Chariton, Iowa, the daughter of Edward "Pete" and Verna (Burson) Giles. She married Norman F. Grogg, Sr. on September 21, 1946, in Olathe, Kansas. He died January 18, 1996. Kay was employed for many years as a printer at various local photo labs, most recently at Wal-Mart in Davenport. She enjoyed quilting, needlework, cooking, and loved her two cats, Moochie and Callie.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Jackson of Moline, and Verna and Brian Bringolf of Moline; three sons, Norman and Linda Grogg, Jr. of Moline, Trevor Grogg of Milan, and John and Diane Grogg of Bigfork, MT; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith Baughman of Low Moor, IA; and a brother, Trevor Giles of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Don; three sisters, Marilyn, Audrey, and Maxine; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
