Catherine J. Harvey

Catherine J. Harvey, 96, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, December 19, 2014, in Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg, Illinois.

Catherine's family will host a luncheon to celebrate her life at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Private burial will take place prior to services at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, handled all arrangements.

The former Catherine Josephine Hopkins was born October 14, 1918, in Macon, Georgia, to Gabriel and Beulah Hopkins. She married William Easter in 1947, and later married Lonnie Harvey. He died in 1990. She was a cook for Epic Foods at the John Deere Administrative Center for several years, retiring in 1983, and previously worked at Fresh Pak Candies and My Shop, both in Moline. Cooking was her passion, she loved fishing, enjoyed antiquing, quilting, crocheting, and gardening, and was a member of the Rock Island County Conservation Club.

Catherine is survived by four children, William Easter Jr. and his wife Sue and Michael J. Easter, all of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Esther Mae Easter of Huntsville, Alabama, and LaWanda Smith of East Moline, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wilhelmina Easter, and two brothers and three sisters.
