Carrollton H. “Carl” Green, 76, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, June 13, 2024, at home.
Visitation is 3 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. A memorial service will follow at 4:45 p.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory and private burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo, Iowa.
Carrollton Howard Green was born June 20, 1947, in Elmhurst, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He married Edna Kay Pulfrey on August 8, 1974, in Galesburg, Illinois. She died December 8, 2023.
Carl was a member of the Carpenter’s Union for over 42 years, working as a master carpenter. He was a nuclear carpenter for nuclear power plants in Iowa and Illinois for 13 years. He later worked for Caldwell Banker Real Estate.
He was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and Disabled American Veterans. He also belonged to the NRA and enjoyed shooting, gardening and writing. He was very proud of being a published author.
Carl is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jodee and Jim Waffle of Coal Valley; three grandchildren, Lindsey Harland, Joshua Boyd and Craig Harland, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Jace, Ja’siah and Marlee Harland, Malakai Rambert, and Ava and Layla Harland; and his brother, Dennis Green of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha McWilliams; his wife, Edna Kay Green; his son, Randall Green; and siblings, Mike, Duwayne and Pat Green, Melanie “Suzie” Doggett, and Liz McWilliams.
