Sherrard, Illinois Services for Carolyn L. Leihsing, 57, of Sherrard, Illinois, are 12:30 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, and 1:00 p.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline. The Reverend Donald L. Levitt will officiate. Burial is in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Kewanee. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, with a Christian Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice. Mrs. Leihsing died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, in her home. The former Carolyn Louise Cinnamon was born February 3, 1945, in Kewanee, the daughter of Cecil and Verna (Bennett) Cinnamon. She graduated from Neponset, Illinois, High School and received her Masters Degree from Augustana College. She married Michael C. Leihsing on May 22, 1965, in Moline. Carolyn taught kindergarten in Sherrard Public Schools for 22 years, last working in 2000. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan, Sherrard Education Association, Illinois and National Education Associations, and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She volunteered for various local charities, and enjoyed shopping, traveling, and talking on the telephone with her many friends. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 37 years, Michael; two daughters, Jane Ruplinger-Romeo and Jill Early, both of Sherrard; three grandchildren, Jenna Romeo, Chase Ruplinger, and Michael Early; her mother, Verna Cinnamon of Neponset; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Sue and David Stearns of DeQueen, Arkansas; and a brother, Donald Yeager of San Diego, California.
