Carolyn Harris went to the Lord on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital due to complications from surgery.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Rev. Craig Jan-McMahon officiating. A hospitality gathering and luncheon for family and friends will immediately follow at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church, Moline, or the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Iowa Hospitals.
Carolyn was born in Boden, Illinois, on February 28th, 1938, to Leslie and Doris (Peterson) Docherty. Carolyn went to Sherrard High School where she participated in plays, cheerleading, class officer and was the Homecoming Queen. There she started dating and later married Ralph Harris. They married
In August 1960.
After graduating from high school, she worked at Modern Woodman until she decided to start a family. She became a homemaker and involved mother with all her children's activities. She adored her children and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. She was also extremely involved with and adored her grandchildren.
Those who remain to miss her include her husband, Ralph, Moline; children, Kimberly (Kurt) Wheat of Davenport, Iowa, Michelle (Mark Cartwright) Harris of Boulder, Colorado, and Brian (Ann) Harris of Bettendorf, Iowa. She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren, Matt and Sam Wheat and Taylor and Cole Harris. She was preceded in passing by her mother and father, and brothers Leslie and Ray.
