Carol J. Scott, 63, of Davenport, Iowa, died Monday, August 1, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, Illinois.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to King's Harvest Animal Shelter, Davenport.

The former Carol Jolene Stewart was born June 24, 1953, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Milford and Celia (VanDenburg) Stewart.

She enjoyed drawing and coloring, writing poetry, and loved being on the farm with her animals. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by five children, Richard (Hoa) Stewart of Davenport, Desteny Stewart of Bettendorf, John Hofer of Davenport, Timothy (Denise) Hofer of Rock Island, and Anthony Scott of Davenport; ten grandchildren; siblings, Lorie Sullivan of Davenport, and John (Patty) Pursley of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Joseph Janicki of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews including Angela Garcia of Davenport, who was like a daughter to Carol. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Kathleen Janicki, Lynette Hentchel, and Darla Lamp.
