Carol D. Dawkins

Carol D. (Enes) Dawkins, 77, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, Illinois. 

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.  Private burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg, at a later date. 

The former Carol Dee Enes was born September 18, 1946, in Galesburg, the daughter of Jack and Delores (Nelson) Enes.  

She held many jobs over her career spanning from manager restaurants/bars to her most rewarding job as a patient advocate for the cancer center in Galesburg.   She would help the needy obtain medications that they otherwise would not be able to afford.  She was quick-witted and funny.  She always had a smile on her face that lit up the entire room.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Amy Davis, of Galesburg; her brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Linda Enes of Silvis; her nephew, Chad (Sarah) Enes of Silvis, and their children, Ashlyn and Owen; her niece, Heather (Dan) Guise of Hampton, and their children, Cameron, Taylor, and Josh; and cousins, Vicki Bollander Mohr and Augie Gatt.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Delores Enes.
