Moline, Illinois Carol C. Burdick, 86, of Moline, died Monday, October 4, 2004, in Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend A. Parker Lewis III officiating. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hope United Church of Christ, Moline. The former Carol Christine Axell was born December 6, 1917, in Moline, the daughter of Carl and Lilly (Ern) Axell. She married Robert K. Burdick on December 10, 1938, in Davenport. He died September 24, 2001. She was switchboard operator at Sears in Moline for 18 years, retiring in 1978. She previously worked for Illinois Bell Telephone and Wheelock Drug Store. She was an active member of Hope United Church of Christ, Moline, where she was a member of the Esther Circle and the Visitation Committee. She had been a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, and belonged to the Rippers knitting group. She enjoyed flower arranging, crafts, knitting, and word puzzles. Carol is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Curtis LeGrand of Bettendorf; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Burdick of Moline; four grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Rose Ehrecke, Robin and Erick Trimble, Luanne and Tom Gritton, and Tracy and Greg Reitan,; four great-grandchildren, Tucker Gritton, Nicole Guenther, Eli Trimble and Cody Reitan; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gwen Axell of Yakima, Washington.
