Carol A. Hixson

Carol A. Hixson, 79, of Cambridge, Illinois, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at home.

A memorial gathering will be held 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Carol Ann Forsythe was born October 31, 1938, in Moline, the daughter of Allen and Emma (Grisel) Forsythe. She married William Robert Hixson on April 19, 1957, in Coal Valley.

Carol retired from Burke Cleaners in 2001. She enjoyed knitting and stock car racing. Above all else, family was the most important thing to her.

Survivors include her beloved husband of over 61 years, Bill; three children, Michael (Mary) Hixson of Andover, Christine Hixson of Cambridge, and Rick (Rebecca) Hixson of Orion; grandchildren, Jamie (Britta) Hixson of Cambridge, Corey (Kristi) Hixson of Andover, Jessica Spiegel of Cambridge, Jennifer Markus of Cambridge, Nicholas (Stephanie) Hixson of Andover, Dustin (Alyssa) Markus of Viola, Samantha (Jerry) Rhoades of Orion, and Colby (Laura) Hixson of Davenport; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Radosevich of East Moline; a brother, Steven (Sharon) Forsythe of Coal Valley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Gregory A. Hixson.
