Carl L. Sutton

Carl L. Sutton, 80, of Silvis, Illinois, died Sunday, August 30, 2015, in Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Private burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Memorials may be made to Animal Aid Humane Society, Moline. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is serving the family.

Carl Leon Sutton was born January 1, 1935, in Moline, to Herman and Eloise (Cady) Sutton. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps, and married Wanda Bechel on August 19, 1956, in Moline. He was employed by the former Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company for 39 years, retiring as lineman crew leader in 1995. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed flying model airplanes.

Carl is survived by his wife, Wanda; three children and their spouses, Jeff and Ronda Sutton of Olympia, Washington, Carolyn Sutton of Lake Worth, Florida, and Barbara and Dave Archiello of Peoria, Arizona; six grandchildren; and siblings and their spouses, Virginia and John Carlisle of Melissa, Texas, and Vere and Ruth Sutton of Carbon Cliff, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Sutton.
