Moline, Illinois Services for Carl D. Colburn, 90, of Moline, are 9:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Moline, with The Reverend Dan Cole officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Moline. Mr. Colburn died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. He was born March 5, 1913, in Laomi, Illinois, the son of Melvin and Iva (Dill) Colburn. He married Mary Reynolds on May 5, 1938, in Muscatine, Iowa. He served in the U. S. Army in both Germany and Japan during WW II. He was product engineer for John Deere Harvester Works for 30 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Moline, and IAM Union, He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and liked gardening, nature, and the outdoors. Carl is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Lori Colburn of Avondale, Arizona, and Kent and Cassandra Colburn of Parker, Colorado; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
