Susan C. Samuels, 61, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with Father John Gallagher officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services.
The former Susan Carolyn Woods was born September 22, 1945, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of William Francis and LaVonne Woods. She married Wilbert Leon Samuels, who preceded her in death in 1994. She was an accountant at the Rock Island Arsenal,where she had worked for almost 30 years.
She was a member of St. Anthony?s Catholic Church, Davenport. She loved her family and her dog, Cocoa, and enjoyed movies.
Sue is survived by her son, Gary L. Samuels of Rock Island; her granddaughter, Mercedes Kyle and Mercedes? Mother, Lynette Kyle, both of East Moline; her grandson, Bronson Samuels of Florida; and brothers and sisters, William F. Woods, Jr. of Davenport, Dorothy D. Reicks of Davenport, Kim Zvonik of New Windsor, Edward Woods and his wife Julie of Blue Grass, Iowa, Lisa A. Shreeves and her husband William of Moline, and Chris Woods of Davenport. She was preceded in death by a son, Joey Samuels.
