Bryce Gibb, 92, of Moline, died Monday, February 18, 2008, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Moline, with the Reverend Don Reffett officiating. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
Bryce Curtis Gibb was born September 19, 1915, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Walter and Leona (Goudy) Gibb. He married Fern Lewis on November 28, 1940, in Lancaster, Missouri. He worked as a foreman for John Deere, retiring in 1972.
Bryce was a member of the Astor Masonic Lodge Number 505 in Albia, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, boating, collecting model cars, and especially loved spending time with his family.
Bryce is survived by his wife of 67 years, Fern, a daughter and son in law, Linda and Thomas Gawel of Sleepy Hollow, Illinois, a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Gibb of Dubuque, Iowa, grandchildren, Tracey Gawel, Thomas Bryce Gawel, Cathie and Mike Cissne, and Julie and Jim Mecham, Great-Grandchildren, Mckenzie and Kyle Cissne, Nathan Meecham, and Ashley Valentin, and three cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Gibb.
